LONDON, FEBRUARY 15, 2024 – Factor, the market leader in Integrated Law, today announced the addition of Daniel Marks, former Co-Head of Legal Managed Services at Norton Rose Fulbright, as Vice President and U.K./Europe Market Lead. Based in London, he is the latest addition to Factor’s fast-growing U.K. leadership team, which added Alan Angell as Vice President, Global Banking & Capital Markets Industry Leader; and Isla Tucker as Delivery Executive, Financial Services over the past year.
The additions further bolster Factor’s capabilities as corporations and their legal departments face pressure to keep pace with artificial intelligence (AI) developments and market changes. The investment in leadership and global collaboration will drive cross-industry growth in the region and further geographic expansion. All three leadership members bring recent experience with Big Four legal services arms, as well as a mix of law firm captives and specialist legal services companies.
Marks brings nearly two decades of experience with designing and delivering innovative solutions to complex legal, regulatory and compliance challenges at major legal and financial institutions. At Factor, he focuses on leading client relationships in the U.K. and Europe, extending Factor’s focus in the life sciences, technology, services, and consumer and industrial sectors. In addition to his role at Norton Rose Fulbright, his background includes leadership roles at EY Law, Thomson Reuters and Citi.
“Having spent the past 10 years in legal managed services roles, I’ve long been familiar with the value Factor’s approach brings to legal leaders grappling with high volumes of transactional work,” said Marks. “Factor’s unique Integrated Law model, as a mix of deep industry expertise, client integration, specialization, and technology-enablement – now with a focus on driving practical GenAI applications to high frequency contracting work – is highly differentiated, particularly for Factor’s ability to support a range of complexity and scale.”
Angell joined Factor from PwC NewLaw, where he served as a Banking & Capital Markets Leader. With extensive experience in legal technology and financial services, he focuses on leading Factor’s Financial Services practice outside of the US. Angell’s background also includes co-founding a legal technology provider, serving as Chief Operating Officer for a SAAS-based document automation solution, and serving in senior roles at J.P. Morgan Chase.
“I knew before joining Factor that the Integrated Law approach was resonating in the market and that the company had cemented its place as a leader in addressing complex legal work at scale,” said Angell. “But over the past year, I’ve seen first-hand the full value of Factor’s offering as we’ve helped clients across industries better manage recurring transactional work and leverage generative AI tools to advance their goals. It’s been an honor to work alongside such a smart and talented team with a deep understanding of the pressures facing in-house legal departments.”
Further elevating the U.K. leadership team, Tucker came to Factor with wide-ranging expertise in managing risk, governance and customer experience in the financial services sector. Her background includes overseeing complex managed services and large-scale regulatory reform projects for a leading global investment bank. Tucker was senior manager for PwC Operate, where she led the financial service sector of the company’s legal operations platform and before that, worked at Standard Chartered Bank.
“Dan, Alan and Isla each bring a valuable and rare mix of skills spanning legal experience, technology awareness and deep understanding of our clients’ problems. This mix is critical as we continue to define the Integrated Law category, sharpen our operational focus on the UK and EU – where we have over 400 lawyers – and establish key market leadership,” said Chris DeConti, Factor’s Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer.
